Elaine Stone

A native of Illinois, Elaine earned her degree in communications in 1989 at Southern Illinois University. While earning her master’s degree at St. Louis University, she worked in corporate public relations as a writer and spokesperson for a major academic medical center in St. Louis, MO., where her mission was to make complex healthcare and research endeavors accessible to the public through her writing and speaking skills.

She moved to the Boston area several years later where she began her teaching career, first in the public school system, then tutoring and eventually teaching English as a second language. She earned her TESOL credentials in 2015.

Elaine has experience influencing students of all ages and ethnicities. She spent three years exclusively coaching Chinese executives working for U.S. companies. She assisted international high school students with college application essays required for admission to U.S. universities. In recent years, she diversified even further and began teaching accent reduction to clients from across the globe, specializing in pronunciation issues unique to students’ perspective languages.

In her free time, Elaine enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with her three adult children and exercising.
