B-Speak! was designed for international graduate students at Darden back in 2014 and is focused on putting English into a communicative business context. Additionally, the fact that B-Speak! is a one-on-one program means that your coach will focus on the skills YOU need to strengthen as you prepare for the Darden classroom, social events and recruiting.

The B-Speak! curriculum includes both materials provided to us by Darden (i.e. case studies) as well as a library of courses we designed, focusing on topics such as pronunciation, small talk public speaking and interview prep. As soon as you register, we acknowledge receipt and review all of the information you've shared, including your goals, ideal start date and lesson schedule. Then we also generally request you send us an informal 2 minute video of yourself so that we can get a sense of your English - and your personality! We then match you with your personal B-Speak! coach and the two of you proceed to set up your lessons together. Finally, we subscribe you to our online curriculum on this same website.

The sooner, the better! If you're an incoming student and have been offered the opportunity by Darden to take a 15 or 30 hour B-Speak! course, we recommend registering immediately so that we can guarantee you get the hours in before the start of your first academic year. It's best to be as prepared as possible before classes and recruiting begin, rather than realizing when it's a bit late that you could've benefitted from the coaching earlier! We often hear from students midway through their MBA and they tell us "I wish I would've started with B-Speak! much sooner!"
