Sara Torres

Sara Torres has taught English literature and writing at the university level for over 10 years. She received her AB in English cum laude from Princeton University and her MA and PhD in English from UCLA. She recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Medieval Literature at the University of Virginia. In addition her to academic research and teaching, Sara has worked as a freelance editor in the private sector, experience which allows her to support adult language learners, professionals, and graduate students as they strengthen their mastery of the English language. As a humanities instructor and writer, Sara is passionate about sharing her love of literature—and belief in its timeliness—with students, colleagues, and friends. She has studied several languages, including French, Portuguese, Italian, Catalan, and Arabic, and enjoys the experience of learning about different regions, cultures, and cuisines. Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Sara has lived in the US mainland for 25 years and loves traveling to different regions and countries. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing the harp, watching baseball, and walking outdoors.
